Timed voice record for an mp3 player?

 Does anyone know of an mp3 player that supports setting a time (either 
ahead of time and/or finish recording x number of minutes from now) for 
recording audio from the microphone, or, if it also has built-in mic port, 
from that? 

If not, would the better/best option be something like a dedicated digital 
voice recorder?   If this is the case, any recommended voice recorders 
that are known to have this feature?
