5400 vs 7200

Don't forget noise.  Some faster drives are noticeably noisier.

I would say if you can find out how big the buffer is on the drive, and 
it's a couple of MB, then get the slower drive.

If you're going to be watching video media off your hard drive though, 
definitely get the faster one.
