I've tried to set up SMPT authorization on my mail server several times, and I've never gotten to work. I'm running dovecot and postfix. I would like to be able to send emails from my laptop when connected to the internet outside my house, and from the mail client on my cellphone. If anyone can help me with this at the InstallFest, that would be great. Please hunt me down there. Also, I wanted to mention I'm bringing a bunch of technical books to the InstallFest to give away.
