Last night I wasted a few CDs. Normally I use K3B on my Fedora 10=20 desktop to burn CDs and DVDs. Last night I got permission denied errors=20 after it had already written some data. Note that /dev/sr0 os owned by=20 root in disk's group, and my userid is in disk's group list. I also=20 tried it as root. So, I tried it with the default CD/DVD Creator, and=20 while it failed, at least it gave me a clue (too fast). I was able to=20 burn the CD successfully with a lower speed. The CD-Rs were 54X, and my=20 DVD drive is an OEM TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552U with a write speed of=20 7056 that has never given me trouble. The last time I burned CDs was for = February's installfest. I don't want to manually slow down writing CDs=20 or DVDs. Any ideas on how to configure things so it will automatically=20 reduce burning speed. --=20 Jerry Feldman <gaf-mNDKBlG2WHs at public.gmane.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846
