Actions and Results

    * Participate in strategic and tactical planning and design sessions
with product management, engineering management, architects, operations and
development team leads
    * Drive decision-making processes to consensus and drive implementation
of key architecture decisions
    * Contribute to creation of a long term, scalable architecture by
working with the development, database and operations teams
    * Oversee technology decisions as they are introduced into the
development and operational environments
    * Help drive our adoption of Agile & Scrum and assist in building a
high performing agile team
    * Mentor developers
    * Lead the creation and development of cross-application architectures
    * Work with Product Management, other software development teams, QA
and Operations in support of full product lifecycle.

Skills and Experience
Required:

    * B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent discipline
    * 15+ years experience in development organizations, with at least 5
years as an architect or CTO in a small to medium technology company
    * Experience building highly scalable websites and web-based
applications and with delivering Software as a Service
    * In depth knowledge of Java and J2EE and web-based applications
    * Experience with JBoss, Spring, Ajax, Javascript and Web Services
    * Ability to articulate engineering design strategies related to
scalability, performance, security, usability and development platforms
    * Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills, as well
as good interpersonal skills and organizational skills
    * Ability and interest to closely collaborate with a wide-range of
individuals to understand business needs and requirements and to understand
how these can be met using a variety of different technologies
    * Experience providing vision around converting legacy code to modern
technologies

Skills and Experience
Desired:

    * Direct experience with email technologies and mail systems
    * Experience with high-volume consumer or small-business website
    * Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
    * Experience with DB2 and Websphere
