Trouble with new computer

Your first mistake was buying from TigerDirect. :-))

I would remove everything from the machine that wasn't from TD
(except the DVD drive)
and try running as many burn-in programs as you can find that will boot from CD.
I would start with a copy of the Ultimate Boot CD which as a bunch of memory/cpu
tests.

At least 4-8 hours of testing would be the minimum I would do.
