hp mini-notebook display problem

I don't know what chipset the HP mininotebook uses, but if it's the Intel Poulsbo set used on a lot of Atom-based netbooks, there is a driver problem with the graphics display. I ran into this on an Acer netbooki. The problem was addressed and hopefully resolved in a blog by AdamW.(I just found it this weekend and haven't had a chance to try it yet.) The blog address is at www.happyassassin.net, but my printout clipped it off. (Partial directory structure: /2009/08/10/intel-gma500-poulsbo-on-fedora.....) I believe that there is also a link to it on Wikipedia, under the entry for Poulsbo.

No guarantees, since I don't know the chipset on the HP for sure. However, a lot of small notebooks, including Acer, Asus, and Sony use this chipset, so it might be the one. Good luck! Hope this helps,
