Hi James, > I need to find a good gift for my daughter. I like the IPOD touch but do > not like their unfriendliness to Linux. Is their a linux/google version of > the IPOD touch. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a gift of > simular nature. Did you find anything that looks good? My iPod Touch had an unfortunate run-in with a puddle of water, and now I'm looking for a replacement. Wifi, a decent web browser, email client and maps application are the general requirements. In theory I would love a cool, pocketable Android device, but I don't know that any of them are very good just yet. The Nokia Maemo devices are also kind of interesting, but I haven't had a chance to play with one in person. You can get a 32 GB refurbed 3rd generation Touch for $250, so that's my price point I guess. Anyone have a suggestion? -ben -- the true value of work lies in the power of self-denial. <kobe abe>
