How much resistance your going to receive depends a lot on how office is used. Basic functions are similar and most users won't have a problem adapting, asuming they are willing to adapt. Expect some resistance just because it "looks" different. if you have "expert" users then expect a lot of resistance. The biggest head ache you will have will be file formats. Its possible to have openoffice use ms file formats exclusively, but obviously not the default. This is where you will run into the most issues if you don't properly perpair your config and users. All That being said you would likely see much of the same just uprgading from 2003 to 2007. Given how much ms changed office. ------Original Message------ From: aldo albanese Sender: discuss-bounces-mNDKBlG2WHs at public.gmane.org To: BLU Subject: OpenOffice and Microsoft Office Sent: Mar 9, 2010 9:17 AM Hi, My company is 95% windows.? I was planning to install OpenOffice3.2 on new desktops.? I was wondering what kind of issues I will get myself into:? These are few of my questions: Compatibility issues between OpenOffice and Office? Learning curves for my users that are not to technical savvy. Business acceptance of this new product User Training, more helpdesk tickets? Please let me know if you have implemented something similar in your company and if you were successful with this implementation. Thanks, Aldo? _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss-mNDKBlG2WHs at public.gmane.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss Sent from my BlackBerry? smartphone with SprintSpeed
