My laptop has a Broadcom chip, and with Ubuntu 9.10, my connections were solid. Since my work net has a hidden ESSID, I sometimes need to use 'sudo iwconfig wlan0 essid algonet'. On fedora, under System/Network I can set "Controlled by Network Manager" and "Activate device when computer starts". I seem to remember that you could do something similar with Ubuntu. IN any case, I'll try to bring up Ubuntu 9.10 (32-bit) under VirtualBox this morning. --=20 Jerry Feldman <gaf-mNDKBlG2WHs at public.gmane.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846
