Hi Jay, If you have a 890GX chipset, it already has an integrated ATI Radeon HD 4290 graphics. I am not sure how well the OSS Linux driver supports this graphics engine, but the proprietary driver should support it well (I haven't seen Linux on this hardware first hand, so I'm just going by what I hear). You can try it and if the performance/stability is not to your expectations, you could easily add a discrete PCIe graphics card at a later date. BTW, the current crop of ATI integrated graphics is more than adequate for "normal" usage -- i.e. anything other than heavy gaming or compute offload type scenarios. -Shankar Full disclosure: I work for AMD, but these are my own views and not my employer's.
