I have an IBM X31 that does not power up. I had it connected to an unprotected electric outlet during one of the latest thunderstorms and I even though the laptop was not turned on I think that a surge may have caused the problem. A DVD/VCR recorder also suffered a similar fate. Are these machines trashed or do they have some sort of internal fuse that I can fix for a minimal amount of money? Thanks in advance for the advice. Jay
