What the ... ??? No. You install Google Apps Sync for Outlook onto a computer that has Outlook. And then you enter your google apps username & password. And then all your google mail, contacts, calendar get synced to Outlook, as if you were connecting to an exchange server. Although it's not as fully featured or reliable as an *actual* exchange server, it is certainly featured-enough and reliable-enough to use it on a daily basis for all your email etc. It's just what you do if you are stuck using google apps and wish you had exchange. (That's me.)
