Well this sucks. I ask the boss today to give me the company credit card and buy a domain name and vps (fortunately I won't have to pay for that) from dreamhost. While I'm waiting for the VPS to be set up (still waiting by the way) I read through their documentation. They don't support PostgreSQL. WTF!?! http://wiki.dreamhost.com/Unsupported_Technologies I assumed when the said VPS with full root I could do what I wanted. But it appears to not _really_ be a VPS. Or at least not in the way I interpreted it. So I've wasted a little time. No biggy. I'll jump over to linode I suppose. Just thought I would pass that info along. Many thanks again guys for the suggestions! - Eric C
