The benefit to wireless doesn't seem worth the bother - at least not for 
a work desktop - so I'm only considering wired models.

I once tried an iConcepts (Sakar International) wireless mouse/keyboard combo.  
The mouse worked better than the keyboard.  A wireless keyboard is something I would not
want to use again.
