As a side note, make sure if you buy a domain name that you are listed as the administrative (as opposed to technical) contact. The administrative contact is the one who legally owns the domain name. ------------------------------------------------------------------- DDDD David Kramer http://thekramers.net DK KD DKK D The plural of anecdote is not data. DK KD DDDD ---------- Forwarded message ---------- People may recall the verb "slam" from a tactic used by phone companies to snare customers into switching long-distance providers involuntarily. Verisign have now introduced slamming to domain-name registration. They are sending out "expiration notices" for domains that say: "check here if you wish to renew your domain for one year." These notices go out regardless of who the domain registrar is. The fine print on the back say that "by signing this form, you hereby authorize us to tranfer the registration of your domain names(s) from your current registrar to Verisign". You may wish to consider a company's business practices when deciding where to take their patronage. Caveat registrar, as always.
