In ubuntu, at the login screen, just click the drop-down menu and select "Gnome" instead of "ubuntu." This will get rid of Unity. I assume that's what you're talking about. Also, just google for guides on how to use unity. It's just like when google or microsoft or anybody else changes a UI. Nobody likes it at first - but it's just because you're used to something else. New people who have never seen either one actually accept and adopt the new thing faster than the old thing.
