running ubuntu 11.10 on asus eee pc 1005ha wlan0 is the internal wirelass device, wlan1 is a usb plug-in wireless adaptor. wlan0 is intermittent -- that's why i need wlan1. my problem is that when they are both up, the browser gets confused and semi hangs. when i shut down wlan0 using ifconfig wlan0 down, all is well, but the clever system shortly starts up wlan0 again. /etc/network/interfaces has only wlan1 listed, but that file has obviously been superceeded. where do i go to ensure that wlan0 stays down. tia, ole dan j. daniel moylan 84 harvard ave brookline, ma 02446-6202 617-232-2360 (tel) jdm at moylan.us www.moylan.us [death to html bloat!]
