I went ahead and ordered the ProLiant N40L from NewEgg with a Kingston 8GB ECC Registered memory kit -- which was all of about $1 more than the non-ECC equivalent. $300 for the box and $69 for the RAM, and free shipping. This will be a nice upgrade from the pair of Mac minis and the mish-mash of USB and Firewire disks that I'm currently using even before adding 3 more disks to the chassis, which I will do at a later date. --Rich P.
