WD's first generation Green disks are notorious for popping out of RAID
sets due to timeout issues. It is such a problem that Western Digital
published a firmware hack that changes the various timeout settings on
these disks.

Mixing disks may work just fine. Mixing disks may crap out. It depends
on the disks, what firmware hacks have been loaded, the RAID system, the
chassis power and other factors that I haven't considered.
