On the same topic. ?I have a Verizon Fios router and two access points. ?Lately I have my friends asking for internet access. ?I would like to give them a guest wireless access just to access the internet. ?I could use one of the two access points to setup another guest SSID. ?Could I use "DMZ host" on the router ?to connect this access point? What is the best practice to use in this?scenario? Thanks, Aldo ________________________________ From: Richard Pieri <richard.pieri at gmail.com> To: blu <discuss at blu.org> Sent: Sunday, March 4, 2012 5:01 PM Subject: Re: [Discuss] Home Wireless Routers OT On Mar 4, 2012, at 2:40 PM, markw at mohawksoft.com wrote: > > I have a similar issue and my solution was to buy two cheap NetGear > refurbs at MicroCenter. Combine Mark's option with VLANs on your firewall (ie, DD-WRT) and you can keep the guest segment completely isolated from the rest of your home network. --Rich P. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss at blu.org http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
