For quite a while I have had Thunderbird freeze up for a period of time. But more recently I have found the firefox is doing a similar thing. Normally, when I run Firefox, I start with BLU.org, iGoogle, and Gmail. Both iGoogle and Gmail are script based. And maybe 1 or 2 assorted tabs. This is on Fedora 16 with a quad-core AMD processor and firefox-12.0-1.fc16.x86_64. Top (viewing CPU) will show firefox sitting right at the top. I have not done any research on this yet. I am wondering if anyone else has been seeing similar behavior especially on a recent 64-bit Linux with 64-bit firefox. As far as the Thunderbird issue, there are a multitude of reasons, including possibly corrupted mbox files. I don't thing the Tbird and the firefox issues are related, but it is a possibility. While there are some features of Firefox I prefer over Chrome, I might simply switch to Chrome. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id:3BC1EB90 PGP Key fingerprint: 49E2 C52A FC5A A31F 8D66 C0AF 7CEA 30FC 3BC1 EB90
