I've migrated and been running corporate and personal domains for several years. The experience is great and the tools are there to help you. You've probably already done your migration, but here is the starting point for the mail service, including migration and sync options: http://support.google.com/a/bin/topic.py?hl=en&topic=9202&parent=9197&ctx=topic For setting up iDevices, go to http://www.google.com/mobile/iphone/ (You can tell users to go to m.google.com with their device as it will browser-detect and redirect accordingly.) One caveat: if you want to host example.com mail with Google Apps For Your Domain (GAFYD), and you have an existing joe at example.com Google ID, then you have what is called a conflicting account. You will need to resolve that conflict in the process of migrating to GAFYD. It's not hard, but it confuses most people. http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=185186 Note to all: be aware that the reps at the (Verizon) phone store simply don't know how to correctly setup your device. So, if you administer a GAFYD service with many users, be prepared to give guidance to users in advance of their device purchase; or be prepared to spend much more time straightening out the mess as it unfolds on the showroom floor. hth, Greg Greg Rundlett On Thu, Feb 7, 2013 at 5:35 AM, Scott Ehrlich <srehrlich at gmail.com> wrote: > I am looking at migrating my domain name and my two email boxes from > another provider to google. > > For those who have done it, how difficult was it to have Google import > your old mail from: > > 1: A non google address? > > 2; A <user>@gmail.com address? > > > Keeping people/dates intact of emails and mailbox subfolders on the > google domain side? > > Anything to be careful of? > > Thanks. > > Scott > _______________________________________________ > Discuss mailing list > Discuss at blu.org > http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss >
