[Discuss] Low Cost Internet?

Did you look at this http://www.freedompop.com/

I have DSLExtreme at home:
https://www.dslextreme.com/dsl/residential

I have tried CLEAR, through multiple resellers, in quite a few
locations in Boston. Most places it worked well, in some very
poorly. For example, at Darmouth and Columbus in one first floor
apartment in a brick building it was unusable, while in another
apartment, on the 2nd floor on the other side of the street 150
feet away, it was fine.

Nonprofits can get up to 11 Clear devices for about $10 apiece
plus $120 for a year's worth of unlimited service for each
device, through Mobile Beacon and TechSoup:

Mobile Citizen has a similar program; the devices cost more... up
to about $80 but perhaps with a little more flexibility about how
the organization uses them...

Some schools, libraries and other nonprofits are getting these
devices and make them available to program participants, e.g.,
libraries in Providence RI that lend them out for a week at a
time: http://www.provcomlib.org/clearwifi.php
