Try:

% df /var
Filesystem     1K-blocks     Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1      471005560 92783160 354296692  21% /

% mount | fgrep sda1
/dev/sda1 on / type ext4 (rw,errors=remount-ro)

So what happens when you try and access a CGI script? 404? The script
source gets sent to the browser?

What does the error log show?
