Company Description Our client is a small and growing company that provides SaaS based merchandising solutions for some of the world?s largest and well-known brands. Job Description Our client needs to add a Senior Systems Administrator, with strong UNIX expertise to their team to help them manage and build out their infrastructure to keep up with increased demand. Experience with Cloud technologies is helpful as they are looking to expand capacity. The Systems Administrator will provide support and maintenance of SaaS hosting environments, assist in capacity planning, budgeting and design of the environment, provide mentoring to more junior IT staff, and provide backup support and escalation for their internal business users, including supporting the software engineering team. As with all systems administration role there will be the need to be on call periodically. Being a smaller company, you may be asked to help out in other ways as necessary. Skills needed: Successful candidates will have a Bachelor?s degree in an IT or Engineering related discipline, 7+ years of experience using Linux and other open source services, preferably in a SaaS line of business, experience implementing and managing cloud based infrastructure for highly available websites (AWS or Rackspace preferred). He/She will also be familiar with TCP/IP networking, particularly HTTP and HTTPS, SSH, DNS, network and systems security, experience configuring and supporting continuous integration and continuous deployment environments. Other technical skills needed include experience with source control tools and practices, preferably with git and github, strong Python, Ruby and/or Bourne Shell scripting and experience implementing and managing puppet, chef, or a similar configuration management tool. Soft skills are just as important. Candidates must have excellent communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills. He/she must be able to work as part of a team or on their own with limited supervision. Since this a relatively small company, we appreciate candidates who are smart on their feet and flexible in their abilities ? people who will pitch in to get the job done.
