At EVERY boot, you get a warning that it's in developer mode, and to 'revert', just hit the space bar. 'Reverting' reformats your Chromebook. Needless to say, it's quite easy to accidentally wipe your Crouton setup. Just hit Ctrl-d at the boot warning, or stay away from the spacebar!
