FWIW, attempting to install Lubuntu 18.04 LTS on an older Samsung netbook NP-N110 (Win XP 2010 era) , using Unetbootin under 16.04 to make a bootable USB stick did NOT work. Setting USB HDD into boot order (via tapping F2) got "No Operating System" error. But Using Ubuntu native Startup Disk Creator made it bootable. Go figure.
