If you're going to go through the trouble of setting up a cable to Do Something(tm) if someone tries to quickly snatch the equipment, why not use a cable that makes it impossible for them to quickly snatch the equipment in the first place? Or, I don't know, maybe don't use easily stolen gear in places which are conducive to it being easily stolen. As an alt.hackers obhack? Sure. For daily use? Nope. -- Rich Pieri
