[Discuss] audio -- timidity

i'm running fedora 31 on a lenevo thinkpad.

a release or two ago, i had trouble getting any sound out of
timidity playing my midi files.  one day, after doing a dnf
update, it suddenly started to work as expected.

now, the updates i have run so far have not cured the
problem.

any suggestions?
