The router has a checkbox for 'b/g protection'. Since the phone is 802.11n and do not have any b or g devices, I unchecked this box and rebooted the router. Upon checking the speed again via both speedof.me and Ookla Speedtest, the WiFi speeds actually reached 60Mbps. The displayed link speed for the WiFi connection is 72Mbps, which I understand is normal.
