Looking at http://blog.neutrino.es/2013/howto-properly-activate-trim-for-your-ssd-on-linux-fstrim-lvm-and-dmcrypt/ it looks like I needed /etc/lvm/lvm.conf enabling discards. Then, looking at https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/85865/trim-with-lvm-and-dm-crypt/85880#85880 it didn't seem to work. I presume because I didn't reboot first. But I don't feel like rebooting right now. Grrr. -kb
