My Samsung tablet complained there there was a problem with the SD card, and it had been switched to read-only. "No problem.", I thought, "I'll put it in my Linux machine, run fsck on it, and get it up and running in no time!" Nope, after a few hours of being frustrated that Linux's ability to do exfat is apparently incomplete (grr) I keep futzing? I finally realized that it was not a case of the file system having problems, it is a case of the SD card itself concluding that it is not healthy and setting a one-time read-only bit. Linux can't change that bit because the firmware on the SD card refuses. Okay?time to back up and then restore to another SD card. We'll see, -kb
