This is where installfests helped
Did you use dnf to try to install hplip. hplip is included in the fedora
repository. Pulling it from the developers site will cause dependency
errors. Note that is hplip is a python module. Look in the folder
/usr/share/hplip. Here is how it should be installed.
*sudo dnf install hplip*
This should install hplip properly.
hplip.x86_64                                         3.22.10-3.fc37
             @updates
hplip-common.x86_64                          3.22.10-3.fc37
     @updates
hplip-gui.x86_64                                   3.22.10-3.fc37
           @updates
hplip-libs.x86_64                                  3.22.10-3.fc37
