i have three laptops running on my local t-mobile network, all running fc37. /etc/hosts is identical for all three, except for 127.0.0.1 which is host specific: 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain 127.0.0.1 aldeberan aldeberan.localdomain 192.168.12.148 alphacent alphacent.localdomain 192.168.12.171 aldeberan aldeberan.localdomain 192.168.12.221 rigel rigel.localdomain 192.168.12.117 HP_DeskJet_2700_series_0A85DE HP_DeskJet_2700_series_0A85DE.localdomain 50.87.218.82 bluedan the t-mobile app sees all three (and the printer). aldeberan and rigel can ping everything, except alphacent. alphacent can ping 192.168.12.148, bluedan, mit.edu, but nothing else on the net (destination host unreachable). i seem adept at ridiculous problems. any thoughts? tia, ole dan j. daniel moylan 84 harvard ave brookline, ma 02446-6202 617-777-0207 (cel) jdm at moylan.us www.moylan.us [BLM]
