/Would a live distro running from a USB stick /Yes I probably could have figured that method out too, but in my everyday usage I run parallel installs of fedora so this approach was in keeping with that.
I haven't found a compelling reason to use another fs other than ext4. For a new file system type you have to know it at a level that I just don't have the time to understand. My everyday job has nothing to do with system administration or coding, I'm in the building industry and linux started out as hobby on my computer and then since it was so dependable as an OS I made it my default and RH distros in particular. I'm not advocating RH in anyway but you have to know where your going to get hurt.
