aaaaargh!!  just checked blu-discuss and found that i posted
on this same issue previously.  just did an upgrade on fc40
and tried again.  voila, problem solved, same as last time
(sort of).

sorry to keep bothering the list with these issues --
especially since more poking around would have found the
solution.  when i'm frustrated i feel like a lost soul
crying in the wilderness.  ah, well.
