On my old XPS-13??the last straw in my no longer trusting it??one of the 
USB-C jacks was acting weird. Were contacts wearing out? Was a circuit 
board trace leading to it intermittent? I leaned on a cable too hard 
once? Did some gluck got in there? I don't know. But with the Framework 
approach a lot of the things that could go wrong would go wrong with the 
expansion card, because it gets most of the wear and tear, not the 
motherboard.
