[Discuss] Group in Rhode Island interested in Linux etc

Thanks! Sorry the RI group is still a little uncertain in its interests. Doing a Linux installfest might possibly fall within the RI group's interests, it's just too early to say. I know I'd attend if we had one in RI, don't know if you would be interested in joining.

I already set up a listserv for the RI group that's being formed. Do you have contact info for the Natick FOSS discussion list?

If we do try to organize or jointly organize a Linux installfest in RI, we could talk about parameters for that.

After we moved our server, possibly we could set you up a listserv. Or they could join the blu discuss or Natick FOSS discussion lists.

Although I'm not sure whether we will call ourselves a Linux User Group, at the first meeting last night everyone was interested in learning more about Linux and most were Linux users. We also want to be useful to people who don't see themselves as technically skilled and aren't interested in Linux per se, but just want to have their phone less dominated by insidious corporate products and are just looking to take a small, not-too-techy step in that direction. And we may be doing some advocacy too. Some are interested in learning how to disconnect their car's wireless. So far we don't have a name, but most of us are in Providence.
