Does anyone have experience with passive infrared detectors for remote alerting? I don't want to convert to some Alexa- or Ring-like religion, but I would like simple Android/iOS phone apps that can promptly and reliably alert me when one triggers. Being open and documented would be nice, too. There seem to be plenty on the market but hard to tell which are any good. I don't want prepackaged "smart home" stuff where it all comes crashing down and one can't even turn on the lights when some MBA decides to change a business model. (Just a few days ago my wife had a gizmo quit working, without warning, because "internet of shit".) If it talked to my local own Linux server that could be cool. Are there good cross-platform apps that are easy to notify from a Linux box? "Ntfy" looks interesting. I wouldn't mind integrating two different products. Thanks, -kb
