[Discuss] LLMs: Claude Code, and a Tip

I have been a "Claude Pro" subscriber for a bit over a week (so I can
use Claude Code), and it is very interesting. Claude is pretty powerful
and quite limited, I am still learning a lot. (This isn't posting about
what I have learned. Well, it is, but in a very limited meta way.)

So far is has been worth it, and if I change my mind later, I can cancel.

Even though there is so much I do *not* know, I do have a piece of
advice for anyone thinking of trying Claude Code:

? Think about *when* you sign up.

Like the free version of Claude, Claude Code is usage limited. The
limits are higher than for the free account, but they are very real.

Usage limits happen on a session basis (based on when I start work), but
also on a weekly basis. If the session usage goes too high I will be
locked out for until some later time. (There are way of buying ones way
past such barriers, naturally.)

The weekly limit is the interesting new part. It seems I happened to
sign up at about noon on Saturday. This means my weekly limit resets at
11:59 EST every Saturday, and it appears this timing is durable. They
have a lot of usage choices on their price list, suggesting that usage
limits remain real for everybody.

In real life the day of the week matters, when one's work week ends as
far as Claude is concerned also matters. Choosing *when* Claude will
tell me I am done, matters. I think happened to choose a good time.

P.S. One can change one anniversary date by cancelling and
resubscribing. I don't know what context might be lost in the process.
