See if you can configure your existing Actiontec box as a MOCA to
Ethernet bridge. If you can do this then you can put an OpenWRT router
of your choice behind it. You'll get a much more capable and secure
router/firewall this way.

My understanding of it is you can do this with consumer kit if your
access points have the same feature sets. Some tinkering with power
settings probably is required to get roaming/switching to work correctly
or at all.
