There are multiple reasons but mostly it's exposing facts about your network such as subnets and specific IP addresses of machines on those subnets. While maybe not a problem for a small home network, it's a credible security risk for medium to large corporate and industrial networks. No other suggestions. You can do it right or you can do it easy. One is a little more work to maintain. The other comes with potentially unintended consequences. -- \m/ (--) \m/
