I think the command that was intended was:
ln -s /dos/quicken /quicken
Actually, they are the same. If the second argument to ln -s is a
directory that exists, a link is created in that directory with the
same name as the last segment of the pathname of the first argument.
Hence ln will create a link in /quicken with the contents
"/dos/quicken".
