I build the kernels for my laptop on my desktop system. I guess that's
of no help to you :-( Perhaps you could borrow someone elses desktop??

The is mailer dependant (as I've encountered). If you use MH based
MUA (Mail User Agents like XMH, EXMH) using the genericstable won't
work and i "THINK" it's because MH is preconfigured to send mail by
connecting to you local smtp port. And I "THINK" this by-passes the
genericstable rule in sendmail.cf. I am working on coming up with
a generic solution which should work for the average linux user which
will include a sendmail.cf (using genericstable) and a mtstailor
file for MH whic will use sendmail the way I want. I'm >-this close-<
to having something done.
I have used genericstable with elm and it works great! You can change
your username and hostname and completely mask the orignating machine.
I'll let you know when I have a solution ready... (could be days, could
be weeks)
