Yeah, that's not good. You're going to want a newer kernel. Grab
2.0.36, compile it (making sure to preserve the kernel you have, which
is ALWAYS a good idea!), and verify that /proc/swaps exists. Then try
mkswap /dev/hda6
swapon /dev/hda6
If that doesn't work, grab a newer mount package. It might be in the
mount RPM, or it might be packaged separately; I don't know, because I
run Debian. Let me know what happens.
