ssh2 with X forwarding

I'm trying to get ssh to forward an X session. The version of ssh is
2.0.12. I've made sure that the server-side config file specifies
ForwardX11=yes and I used the +x flag on the ssh command from the
client side. However, the server side doesn't set the DISPLAY variable.

Any suggestions on how to get this working?
