RCN cable-modem wins with Linux

Ok, I'll bite.. How do I setup the Erols PPP dialin service? Yes,
I do know my RCN username/password.

PS: I've also been told that rebooting your cablemodem (via power
cycle) can sometimes help with the packet loss, too.
