Robert, Thanks for all the info. I haven't tried it all yet, but your
message will help me greatly i'm sure. 

Shane, You are correct in assumeing that i was writing in perl. The
reason for perl is because i happen to know more perl then php. That
was really the only reason. Does PHP have an edge over perl in this 
area? This page is going to be for machine sign up. People who need
machines for a certian time can sign upand assure themselves a machine
to work on without fear on conflict.
