If you've compiled the driver as a module, you can do something like this
in /etc/conf.modules (or modules.conf on some systems...)
alias eth0 tulip
alias eth1 tulip
and then just ifconfig the cards up. I believe that will work. If that
doesn't do it, try running netconf (which is a symlink to linuxconf --
just runs the networking part). It will let you configure your cards, and
specify various options for them.
If you did NOT compile the tulip driver as a module, then I highly
recommend that you do so. It greatly simplifies managing multiple
instances of devices, IMO.
